Dorthy Eger, DDS

Dr. Dorie Eger is uniquely trained as a specialist in both Periodontics and Orthodontics.  She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1995, graduating first in her class. Continuing her studies at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, she completed postgraduate residency programs in both Periodontics and Orthodontics in 1997 and 2001 respectively. Along with certificates in both of these specialty areas, she earned her Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Eger has been working in the dental field since she was 16, when she started working as an orthodontic assistant in the practice of her orthodontist, as she was undergoing orthodontic treatment herself.

Having practiced in both specialty areas, Dr. Eger now limits her practice to Orthodontics, but brings to this specialty area her expertise and knowledge associated with her advanced specialty training.

Born and raised in Maryland, Dr. Eger lives in Montgomery County with her husband and two children.  Her interests include martial arts (Dr. Eger is a black belt in Tang Soo Do and Taijitsu), riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, and enjoying time with her family.

Paul Friedman, DDS

A practicing Periodontist for more than 20 years, Dr. Friedman’s passion is helping patients maintain or achieve a beautiful healthy smile. His expertise extends into all phases of periodontal and dental implant care. His goal is to provide a safe and comfortable dental experience.

His interest in periodontal care began while studying biological sciences at the University of Vermont where he graduated in 1985. He went on to earn both his D.D.S. degree and his periodontal specialty certificate at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

Committed to providing the best, most advanced periodontal care, Dr. Friedman keeps up to date on the advances in the dental field by attending courses throughout the country. Dr. Friedman has been a career-long member of the American Academy of Periodontology as well as several other professional organizations and study groups.

Dr. Friedman has lived in Howard County, Maryland for over 20 years. Some of his interests outside the office include spending time with his wife and two teenage sons. He enjoys skiing, cycling, travel as well as good movies and food!

Ilaya Rajagopal, DDS

Dr. Rajagopal, a native of Madras, India, received his Bachelors in Dental Surgery in 1999. He came to the United States to pursue his graduate research training in Dental Biomaterials followed by a residency in Pediatric Dentistry.

During his training in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Rajagopal was a two-time winner of the graduate table clinic poster presentation and was awarded the certificate by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He also served as Clinical Instructor to the dental students and pediatric dental residents while he was a Fellow at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Dr. Rajagopal has a keen interest in treating children with special health care needs and those children who need emergency dental care. He has been practicing in the Eldersburg office since 2008. He serves as the Dental Director for Walnut street community health center in Hagerstown, MD where he cares for underpriviledged and disadvantaged children. He is a medical staff member with priviledges at Kernan Hospital and Meritus Medical Center.

Dr. Rajagopal (known to all as Dr. Raj) currently resides in Hagerstown, MD along with his wife, Dr. Kavitha, an internal medicine physician, and their daughter Annapoorna. His hobbies include watching soccer and cricket, and playing tennis. Dr. Rajagopal is committed to provide quality comprehensive pediatric dental care and establishing longstanding relationships with his patients and their families.

Mohammad Tofigh, DDS, MD

Dr. Tofigh completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at Towson University, graduating magna cum laude. He then attended University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore where he again graduated at the top of his class (magna cum laude). He went on to continue his education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Hospital in New York City. During this time, he received his medical degree and completed an internship in General Surgery. In addition, he traveled abroad to Bolivia and Mexico among a team of surgeons treating congenital cleft lip and palate deformities. Dr. Tofigh attended to patients at multiple hospitals in NYC, including The Mount Sinai Medical Center, Bronx VA, Jamaica Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was involved in resident training as an Attending as well, before returning to Maryland. Dr. Tofigh cares for his patients with dedication and professionalism. His professional interests focus on dentoalveolar surgery, third molar removal, dental implants, bone grafting, general anesthesia / IV sedation, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, oral pathology, facial trauma and reconstruction and TMJ disorders. He is particularly interested in utilizing the newest technology in computer-aided surgical treatment planning to gain the highest level of precision and predictability achievable. He has coauthored a chapter in the text book Digital Technologies in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Tofigh is a part of several professional organizations. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Association. Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Tofigh enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He has a passion for nature and outdoor activities.

Huda Ali, DMD

Dr. Ali is an experienced dentist with advanced training via Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency that incorporates oral oncology, oral surgery, anesthesiology, operative procedures, and treating special needs patients. A native of Madison, Mississippi and a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, Dr. Ali brings southern hospitality to your dental visit. She can't wait to meet you and work on a patient-doctor relationship that helps guide you through the uncertainty of your dental problems and accommodating your needs.

Dr. Ali prides herself on being ethical, compassionate, and detail oriented in her approach. She is always interested in keeping up to date with new techniques in the field of dentistry. Dr. Ali is also an active member of ADA, MDA, AGD, and AAWD. Dr. Ali’s philosophy is to value each individual and their needs to deliver the best dental treatment possible. She believes that the foundation for better dental health is based on mutual trust, respect, communication, and understanding. Dr. Ali believes that as dentists we should give back and help our communities. She has volunteered with charities that include Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, Habitat for Humanity, and Mission First dental clinics.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Ali enjoys spending time with her husband and two lovely daughters. She also enjoys traveling and painting.
